Fitzgeralds Casino $2.50 Chip – Las Vegas Nevada

Description

Fitzgeralds Casino, now known as The D Las Vegas, has a rich history dating back to its opening in 1987. The casino was named after its founder, Don B. Yow, who named it after his favorite author, F. Scott Fitzgerald. It was originally designed to have an Irish theme, with green decor and shamrock motifs throughout the property.

In 1992, the casino underwent a major expansion, which added a new 34-story tower with over 600 rooms, making it the tallest building in downtown Las Vegas at the time. The property continued to evolve over the years, with renovations and upgrades to the casino, hotel rooms, and amenities.

In 2011, the property was purchased by brothers Derek and Greg Stevens, who renamed it The D Las Vegas and embarked on a major renovation project. They updated the property with a modern, edgy vibe, while still retaining some of the classic Vegas charm. The D features a unique blend of vintage and contemporary elements, with LED lights, modern furnishings, and retro signage.

Today, The D is a popular destination for both locals and tourists, offering a variety of gaming, dining, and entertainment options. The property has undergone numerous transformations over the years, but it remains an iconic part of the downtown Las Vegas landscape.
