Alladian Casino Las Vegas 1 Dollar Chip

The Aladdin Casino, a historic landmark in Las Vegas, has a storied past dating back to its original opening in 1962. Initially named the Tallyho, it was rebranded as the King’s Crown before adopting the Aladdin name in 1966, complete with a Middle Eastern theme. Over the years, the Aladdin became renowned for its exotic decor and star-studded entertainment, including the legendary performance by Elvis Presley in 1967.

In the late 1990s, the original Aladdin was demolished to make way for a new, more opulent resort. The new Aladdin Casino and Resort opened its doors in 2000, featuring a 100,000-square-foot casino, luxurious accommodations, and the Desert Passage shopping mall. Despite its grandeur, financial difficulties plagued the resort, leading to its sale and eventual rebranding as Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in 2007.

Throughout its various incarnations, the Aladdin Casino left an indelible mark on the Las Vegas Strip, remembered for its unique charm, entertainment legacy, and the ever-evolving spirit of Las Vegas itself.
