Boardwalk Casino Las Vegas 1 Dollar Chip

Description

The Boardwalk Hotel and Casino, located on the Las Vegas Strip, had a unique history marked by its Coney Island theme. Opened in 1966, it started as a small motel before expanding into a full-scale casino. Known for its distinctive amusement park-inspired facade, including a giant clown marquee, it offered a quirky contrast to the more glamorous resorts around it. In the 1990s, it underwent significant renovations, enhancing its appeal. Despite its charm, the Boardwalk struggled to compete with the newer mega-resorts. It was eventually purchased by MGM Mirage and closed in January 2006. The site was cleared to make way for the CityCenter complex, which opened in 2009.
